Creating a Capsule Wardrobe to Simplify Your Life

Are you feeling overwhelmed by your closet? Do you have a hard time getting dressed in the morning because you can never decide what to wear? Do you have events that come up and you don't have time to shop and nothing to wear?  If you've said "yes" to any of these, you might want to consider creating a capsule wardrobe. A capsule wardrobe is a collection of clothing and accessories that you love and that all work well together. With a capsule wardrobe, you’ll need fewer items but have more style options. We’ll show you how to create a capsule wardrobe that will simplify your life and make getting dressed a breeze.

Your capsule wardrobe should be a collection of go-to pieces that can be combined to create multiple outfits. The great thing about a capsule wardrobe is that it's tailored to your individual style and can be easily customized to your needs. It typically includes a mix of clothing basics- like shirts, pants, skirts, dresses and jackets- as well as accessories like jewelry, handbags, and don't forget shoes. Having a capsule wardrobe will help you streamline your wardrobe and simplify your life. You'll no longer have to waste time agonizing over what to wear each day, because you'll already have a collection of versatile pieces that can be mixed and matched to create different looks.

As women, we are constantly on the go. We have to be ready for anything that comes our way, whether it be a meeting, date night, or special event. The problem is that we often don't have time to shop for every single event. That's where a capsule wardrobe comes in handy. A capsule wardrobe is a collection of carefully curated clothing and accessories that will help you feel confident and beautiful for any occasion. With a capsule wardrobe, you'll have everything you need to take on anything life throws your way without the stress.

When putting together your capsule wardrobe, think basics that mix and match. You'll want to have some dressier items, as well as everyday casual pieces. This will give you a variety of looks to wear and make getting dressed a breeze. Another thing to keep in mind: less is more. You don't need a ton of pieces to create a capsule wardrobe—in fact, you can probably get away with a lot less than you think. So focus on key pieces that you know you'll love and wear again and again.

A capsule wardrobe's goal is to choose versatile basic items that can be worn throughout the year and will never go out of style. So, what should you include in your capsule wardrobe? A great starting point is to think about the different types of events you'll attend throughout the year and your lifestyle. Here are my go-to basics that I like:

*Tops: plain t-shirts, basic button downs, cami that can be used to layer or worn alone

*Bottoms: jeans, skirt, pants

*Dress: dress that could be utilized for multiple events

*Outerwear: blazer (a must for me), trench coat, denim jacket, and/or moto jacket

*Jewelry: jewelry that is versatile, yet shows your style

*Shoes: pumps (I like nude), flats, sandals/wedges, fashion sneakers

*Purses: 1 for everyday, 1 for going out (usually a clutch or small bag)

Don't feel like you need them all if something really doesn't work with your life or style. I choose my capsule pieces in black and white. If you are not a black and white person , by all means choose 2 or 3 colors that mix and match well to make it your own. If you love tan and pink, by all means, go with it! Just be sure the whole wardrobe is coohesive. Also, you obviously need more than 3 tops, but you can buy multiple colors of the recommended, but also this is where you can really add pieces later to really create versatility while keeping in mind your capsule items. With just a handful of pieces, you can create dozens of different outfits that will suit your every need!

The key to a successful capsule wardrobe is maintenance. It's important to purge pieces as you add new items or when items are stained or worn out looking, and to make sure everything still works together seasonally. It's also crucial to be realistic about your lifestyle and what will actually work for you. If you know you're not a black-and-white kind of person, don't try to force yourself into a monochrome capsule. Instead, experiment with color and mix and match prints and patterns. The best part about a capsule wardrobe is that it can be completely customizable to fit your unique style.

Creating a capsule wardrobe is a great way to simplify your life, and it can be fun, too! When you create a capsule wardrobe, you'll know exactly what pieces you have to work with and you'll be able to mix and match them for endless outfits. Plus, when you have a capsule wardrobe, you'll save money because you'll be buying less clothing that doesn't work with anything else in your closet. So, if you're looking for a way to simplify your life and avoid unnecessary stress, consider creating a capsule wardrobe!
